Dato’ Mirza Mohammad Taiyab, Director-General of Tourism Malaysia, gave us some insights for tourism in Kuala Lumpur:

“Early this year, Kuala Lumpur was on the New York Times list of 31 must-see destinations in 2010. Anyone who visits will find that Kuala Lumpur, affectionately called KL, is a city of contrasts. It is a modern city that still retains an old-world charm; it is full of culture and history, yet is moving forward at great speed. There is a wonderful diversity here in the cultures of the people, the festivals we celebrate, the food we eat. One striking example of this diversity is the pocket of thriving rainforest right in the middle of our concrete jungle! KL is a great place for shopping, entertainment, to find great food, to live, work and play. Everyone, whether young or old, hip or not, flamboyant or geeky, thrifty or wealthy, has a special place in Kuala Lumpur!”
